RoSPA Gold Award for 8th consecutive Year!

Thursday October 10, 2013

Ondeo IS has its approach to occupational safety and health recognised after winning the RoSPA Gold award for the eighth consecutive year. The award scheme is run by the safety charity RoSPA, the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents, and rewards our ongoing commitment to accident and ill health prevention.

As a company, we take HSE (Health, Safety and Environment) very seriously and we will always put the safety of our people and the protection of the environment first. We believe that no harm should come to our people or the environment whist under our operation and we feel this award goes some way of recognising our commitment to this. The awards process looks at our accident records and the entrants’ overarching health and safety management systems including practices such as leadership and workforce involvement.

We are very proud of this achievement particularly as we have now been presented the Gold Award for eight consecutive years. This is a company award and everyone within our business can take credit for this achievement. Stephen McCreadie, one of our effluent treatment operations team leaders, attended the award ceremony to pick up our eighth Gold Award at the Glasgow Hilton in September on everyone’s behalf.

Organisations maintaining high standards can win gold medals, president’s awards and orders of distinction. If we are successful in being awarded the Gold award for ten years, which is only retained by a selected few, we will get a sword (yes, an actual sword) which our in-house HSE team will fully risk assess before collecting and ensure appropriate PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) is worn. We are also working out how to get our logo onto the chainmail.
