Mixed bed demineralisation: treatment of water with a low mineral content

Mixed bed demineralisation: treatment of water with a low mineral content

Water naturally contains dissolved mineral salts whose content restricts its use as boiler system water because it causes corrosion and scale build up, hence the need for demineralisation.

Mixed bed treatment is the final step in the demineralisation chain and produces water of extremely low conductivity, typically less than 0.1 μS/cm.

It can also be used directly to demineralise slightly mineralised raw water.

The process is particularly suited to the requirements of the pharmaceutical, microelectronics and energy industries.
